Capturing the Views

The team arose to sunshine streaming through the windows as the sounds of the city beginning its morning routine filled our room. We met with our two main contacts, Alonso and Bryan, downtown to begin a road trip throughout the city to highlight the transportation systems in Arequipa and some of the non-touristy places. In two packed cars we wove through the streets, taking b roll and learning about the place they call home. We were brought to fields with cows overlooking the city, the largest bridge of Arequipa with a gorgeous view of Misti, the train station which we were unfortunately unable to go inside of and the combi station. After our mini-adventure, we got lunch together at a Ceviche restaurant and tried Chicha Morada aka purple beer. We said our goodbyes and had a couple of hours to decompress and debrief in the sunshine before meeting with Bryan for a sit-down interview in which the story continued to unfold before our eyes. We are so overjoyed with what we have learned and are continuing to learn, and we cannot wait to share this story with the world.

Peace,

Myah
